History of the USS Achilles

Achilles was started in August 2004, and was authorized by Caymen Greener. Originally, the Achilles was a Prometheus Class Tactical Fighter Carrier, assigned to maintain the Security of Starbase TPH, SB 12, and SB 211. Currently, the Achilles is in her third incarnation, as a Retrofitted Ambassador Class, specializing in Fighter Combat, Fighter Escort, and as a Diplomatic Envoy.

The only real shake ups to date with Achilles have been with crew. We had a number of writes quit due to RL constraints, and recruiting has been somewhat difficult to keep up with. Right now, we have 4 writers, but would openly welcome more!

The membership of the Damocles, or the Dawnspring Fleet as it will be known is composed of the ten players previously involved with the Starbase Omega, USS Venture and USS Robert April games here in the AQSG.

What's Happening Now?

Currently, the Achilles is on an official mission to broker new diplomatic relations with the Romulan Empire. Unofficially, The Captain is leading his crew into a covert crusade, out to find the people who detroyed the second Achilles, and 75 of her crew over a year ago.

Game Manager Profile

The GM of the Achilles is Trevor Cates. this is my first (and only) active sim that I have ran to date. When not working on Achilles, where I write the part of Logan Campbell, I'm either working, owning face playing the DBZ Budokai games on PS2, or spending time with my family.

Selected Profile 1

The first player I'd like to point out is Pat. He has been with the Achilles since it's inception, first as a rogue pilot from the Matakai Empire, and now as the First Officer of the sim. His character is Lt. Cmdr. Donovan, who like I have said started out as a fighter pilot trying to escape the corruption of his homeworld. He has worked his way up the ranks, and also obtaining a commision from Starfleet.

Selected Profile 3

The second player is Josh. He has also been with the sim since square 1, first as Donovan's second in the squadron, and now as the Squadron Commander. His character is Lt. Cmdr. Roken Stone, who has not only demonstrated great skill as a pilot, but also has been the main crew member to take an adversarial stance with the CO's somewhat (at the time) hardline policies. Roken has been the main source of all of the changes in the Captain's demeanor over the last four years, and has also developed into a more seasoned Officer himeself.

Future of the USS Achilles

Right now, anything is possible. If we can get about 3 more writers, we will most likely start a true explore and discover mission in the Gamma Quadrant, but this all depends on how this next mission pans out; only time will tell.

In order to be eligible for the SIM OF THE MONTH award, a sim must meet the following criteria:

Member of AQSG for 3 months

Sim is older than 3 months

Sim contains 4 active members

Monthly average of 15 posts.

We will notify the GM of Canididate Sims at least a week prior to issuing the award for information.
