PHYSICAL PROFILE:
Tall and slender, Dade is generally grizzled and weatherbeaten in appearance. His generally rough lifestyle has left him looking much older than others his age. He generally moves more slowly and deliberately than most, but is still spry when he needs to be. There is still much life left in "these old bones", and those who underestimate him as a slow old man, generally do so to their own cost.

PERSONALITY PROFILE:
Dade generally proceeds at his own pace, not likely to be rushed by others, and forcing them to his pace more often than not. His doleful stare can speak volumes, and often stop someone in their tracks. He is m ore likely to hold his tongue than speak, reserving his comments for those that need to hear them. The exception is for storytelling, which he is most accomplished at, having a wide variety of life experiences to speak on. He's lived hard, and learned a lot. His stories often have a poignant lesson in them that applies to the situation at hand, ifh e;s allowed to ramble to his point.
He has a temper when pushed to it, but that rarely shows anymore. He is often aloof, but his true feelings simply don't show as readily. Having seen so much, he doesn't have as big a reaction to things at this point. Having taken his lifestyle to the extreme already, he's ready for a more sedate life, so long as the ends meet and there's a chance of getting real cigar, coffee or whiskey out of the deal on occasion.

BACKGROUND:
Dade was in space when space was young. The spacefaring being in his young blood, he spent several years on various merchant vessels, including Firefly class transports, holding various positions. When he met Saria, the woman of his dreams ona cargo run, he gave up teh spacers life for her to become a colonist on a recently terraformed moon.
They survived a tough series of years with his wife on the moon, often struggling, but coming out on top, and helping others where they could afford to. They were on the verge of making it when the war came to their moon. They tried to keep their heads down and survive, but the war came to them. A band of renegades sought refuge on his farmland in their flight from the Alliance. Being civilized, Dade did offer them shelter for the night, on the condition they move on in the morning. The group was inpossession of stolen computer data, and wanted as a priority by the Alliance. Out inspecting his cattle in the early morning, he saw the Alliance moving in. He rode to the house, alerting them early. The browncoats fled, but the Alliance did not discriminate. His family and land were destroyed as the Alliance moved through their homestead, destroying what they believed to be a browncoat stronghold, or allies of the browncoats. Dade was left for dead.
When he recovered, he did join the browncoats, to fight against those who murdered his family, even if he was often at odds with their leadership. He saw more than enough action to sate his taste for revenge, often volunteering for the crazier and more dangerous missions. When the Browncoats surrendered, he began the process of moving on, and faded in to the black again, taking jobs where he needed to, but otherwise keeping to himself. Since then, he's taken many jobs, done many things, doing each following his own sense of integrity. He has no wish to take part in the societies of the Alliance and sticks to the further flung areas, letting his own mind and heart be his guide.
