Alexei has a gymnast's frame. A highly trained thief and infiltration expert, Alexei has had some combat training, allowing him to stand up against most hired thugs, but against a pro of any real caliber, and he will quickly find himself outclassed.

Alexei Nikitin has no memory of his birth parents, and has only known his father to be Lai Changxing. Lai was a mid level crime lord based on Persephone. Changxing adopted Alexei when he was little more than an infant, and for reasons that Alexei has never learned, decided to raise him as his own son. Lai Changxing insured that his children were well educated both within the world that Changxing existed, but also insured received the best scholastic education on Persephone.
Throughout his childhood, Alexei demonstrated a knack for getting into places where he wasn't allowed, almost always accompanied by Xu Rong, Lai's eldest son. It had always been said; where you found one, you would find the other, nearly always neck deep in one kind of mischief or another. In many such families, there was a level of fear and suspicion between brothers that could potentially become rivals when the time came for the patriarch to appoint a successor. However, this wasn't true between Xu Rong and Alexei. Alexei had no interest in taking over the family, preferring excitement and adventure to remaining with the family and sustaining the power base.
When he was old enough, Alexei requested his father to purchase him an apprenticeship with a Master Thief. The next three years were the most enjoyable Alexei had ever known. Mikah, a self-styled rapscallion and scoundrel, taught Alexei his trade. All while jumping from planet to planet, following the jobs; stealing both in the inner and outer worlds within the Alliance sphere of influence. However, his time with Mikah ended with the start of the war. Interstellar travel, now severely curtailed due to the war, Alexei ended his apprenticeship and returned home.
During the war, Lai expanded his business by delivering contraband to both sides of the conflict, providing everything from difficult to get materials to illicit pleasures that soldiers at war always seem to seek out. By the end of the war, Lai had not only survived, but had increased his family's holdings and power within the various crime families that bordered the fringe and Alliance Core worlds.
The one thing that Changxing had not counted on was the growing ambition of Xu Rong. The move to power was flawless, before Lai knew what was happening, Xu Rong had usurped his power, leaving him merely a figurehead within the Family. Alexei knew what this meant for him. They’re previous relationship had been shattered by his brother's betrayal, and Alexei's presence had become a constant threat to Xu Rong's power. Gathering his gear, Alexei disappeared, catching the next transport off planet.
After two years, Xu Rong and Alexei have reached an uneasy truce. So long as Alexei stays well clear of any Changxing business, he will be ignored. However, should Alexei attempt to anyway interfere with his brother's activities or endanger his position, and he will retaliate with all the power the Crime family has at its disposal.
